Full Wash Day Main Steps
1. Pre-poo or Pre-cleaning or Un-styling and/or Sectioning and Pre-detangling on damp hair
2. Cleaning
3. Deep conditioning treatment on damp hair
4. Moisturizing on damp hair
5. Styling (low manipulation styles or protective styles)

Full Wash Day Routine Detailed Steps (some steps may be optional)
A. Preparing hair for a new style
1. dampen, oil and/or un-style hair
2. sectioning (2 to 4 sections, preferably into ponytails)
3. pre-poo with water and oil and/or conditioner in addition to a detangler if necessary and pre-detangle (finger -gently pull, separate-, wide tooth comb or detangling brush)
4. put back into sections (2 to 12 sections, preferably single twists or single braids or bantu knots)
5. cleaning : shampoo (alternate between sulfate and sulfate-free shampoo), clay, soap
6. conditioning-wash (co-wash)
7. sectioning (2 to 4 sections, preferably into ponytails)
8. deep conditioning treatment (if needed use heat for 30 minutes to 1 hour or more) : moisturizing treatment, strengthening/fortifying/protein-based treatment, hot (tepid) oil treatment, clay mask
9. detangling (finger -gently pull, separate-, wide tooth comb or detangling brush)
10. put back into sections (2 to 12 sections, preferably single twists or single braids or bantu knots)
11. rinse out / conditioning-wash (co-wash)
12. sectioning (2 to 4 sections, preferably into ponytails)
13. moisturizing with LO or LB or LCO or LOC method. Where L is liquid (water, leave-in), C is cream, O is oil and B is butter
14. detangling (finger -gently pull, separate-, wide tooth comb or detangling brush)
15. put back into sections (2 to 12 sections, preferably single twists or single braids or bantu knots)
B. Styling
16. sectioning for stretching and/or drying and/or styling (1 to 50 sections, according to the target style)
17. detangling for stretching and/or drying and/or styling (finger -gently pull, seperate-, wide/medium tooth comb, detangling brush)
18. stretching and/or drying - twists, braids, bantu knots, banding, african threading, perm rods, flexi rods, curl formers, blow dryer
19. styling - low manipulation styles or protective styles without or with extensions (single twists, single braids, cornrows, flat twists, bantu knots, braids out, twists out, bantu knots out, african threading out, curls out, puff, bun, wash n go, finger/comb coiling, box braids, crochet braids, faux-locs, wigs, weaves)

Note 1 - Avoid direct heat as much as possible (flat iron, curl iron)
